Server crashing

What's up with the server crashes? Haven't been able to play for more than like 20 minutes each day since I started and the server goes offline. Isn't there like some sort of auto restarter?

Crashed again... any chance you can look on some logs or something to see what causes these crashes?

These crashes really annoy me, totally ruins my favorite server :/

Ye the major issue about this will be that people get tired of this and eventually leave, and we all know that's a real server killer. So if the owner wants to keep the players he's going to have to do something about this.

1: I don't Know the problem so I can't fix it.
2: I don't even have the sources so I can't fix it even if I knew what it was
3: I won't put up my 7.6 server again due to all cheaters and everyone complaining.

Give the 7.6 another shot. Good players can handle cheaters and there's tibicam for 7.6 which allows people to catch them. Also if you add fast pushing (of the characters, as in no push delay) it's easier for the players to get away from cheaters. 36.hopto.org used this and I loved it, push delay just slows everything down.

That's too bad, because you should know that this sort of server is exactly what a lot of old school players are looking for. I'll just go ahead and ask you once more out of enthusiasm not to give up on this project, could turn into a real success if you make it. If not, thanks for like 40 entertanining minutes of playing.

The server has been online for, what like a month? I don't know for sure, but you would smash ur computer broken if you played the 7.6 among all aimboters.

Now, not to be unpolite, but EVERYONE was aimboting on that server in 7.6.

I mean everyone, no one on this forum didn't and you all know it.

So sorry dude... if I find a solution somehow, I will put it up, else not.

I never played the 7.6 version so I do not know anything about it. However, whether you believe me or not I'll still say that I wouldn't cheat in 7.6 even if everyone did. Never touched a cheat tool and I consider fighting a botter some extra practice. But enough about that and back to the point, I hope you come to a solution because I like your thinking, an old school PVP server with EXP for killing people, it's brilliant and a far too good project to give up on. Hang in there, let it be for a few days and regain some motivation.

The 7.6 server was filled with hardcore botters and people that botted because "everyone else is botting" and then there were people that pretended they had good aim and didnt bot.

Yea well, I know what's bugging the 7.4 Avesta server (old ver.) But I have no clue how to put "Exhaust on log in"? Haha sorry.

Look around, I'm sure you'll find it. Keep the server down until you do (if you keep looking) and then turn it back on in case you make it work fully. No point in keeping a crashing sevrer running. Been all over OTfans? There might be some information there.

Yea, I've been on otfans.

Only "possible" solution is that I fix "relog exhaust" or "connection exhaust", elsewise I think the server is burried for some time.

What exactly is crashing the server?

No idea really since the server doesn't crash... the connection between the database get semi-disconnected some how.

Did you do something to prevent the crashes? It didn't crash yet so if you did something i guess it worked.

Any chance you can clean up the database by the way? The server is lagging some and i remember the server lagged way less last time you fixed something in the database, think you deleted something.

Nice that server is on again, but can't you do anything to balance the exp loss/exp gain while you kill someone? Because it's like the people who fight have lower levels than people that log in for first time.. Or maybe if it's possible just fix the PoI door to 50 not 53, so people will be able to hunt some if they want..

I will fix that. I first thought that the bug was that the experience gain was too high, then I realized that you just didn't drop more than like 0.5% exp (Normal tibia is 10%)

I think the problem is that you dont get much experience from lower levels, is it possible to change to formula so you get more exp from killing lower levels? The loss is fine now because people think twice before spamming spells.

Guess your working on the server again since the homepage is offline... Any idea when the server is up again?

I think the server is closed down now, or maybe he just stopped working on it during xmas holidays and keep working later, but i dont think so.
