At the moment you can refill mana just moving around a few step in different directions because its hard to hit more than 1 sd / 2 mana fluids (in which case you will actually gain mana rather than loose it)
To fix this, fix field runes. If you put a energy field where someone is moving around he has to move to a new space loosing more mana then he gains untill he realise its better to run more straight
Edit: The fix is to make field runes do damage not just block people from pusing
